Connie's Dream Comes True as She Returns to West Ham United

We were honoured to help one of our much-loved residents fulfil a lifelong wish to watch her beloved West Ham United play again at their home ground.

Connie, a passionate lifelong Hammers fan, often talks about her dream to return to the stadium and last weekend that wish became a reality thanks to the dedication of our team and our commitment to helping our residents live fulfilled lives. Here at Ladyville Lodge Care Home in Upminster, our purpose is to care for people in a way that contributes to a meaningful life. Through our award-winning wellbeing programme, we actively support residents in setting personal goals and pursuing lifelong aspirations in this chapter of life.

For 93-year-old Connie, this day out was a deeply emotional experience that connected her with her past, her passions and her entire life as a supporter. As a lifelong Hammers fan, she’d often spoken about how much it would mean to return to the stadium and it was our honour to make that dream come true. We thank West Ham United for supporting us to enable this wonderful experience.

“It was an amazing day out,” Connie said. “I jumped up when they scored. Even though it would’ve been nice if they’d won, I was just glad to see them score. I’m so happy with the 2-all draw!”

We’re here to support individual dreams and create opportunities for joy every single day. Ladyville Lodge, located in North Ockendon near Upminster, is a family-owned 38-bedroom care and nursing home offering a range of services including residential, nursing, dementia and respite care. Set in beautiful grounds, our dedicated team provide a supportive shared home community where wellbeing is prioritised and celebrated each day.
