Highfield Hall welcomed Bolton Radio this week as they followed 21-year-old pianist Louis Timberly, whose care home performances were inspired by his grandad's dementia journey.

This Christmas, we took a familiar idea and shaped it around the people who matter most. Inspired by The 12 Days of Christmas, we created an idea of the 12 Days of Each Other Care, an initiative built around twelve original poems, one for each of our homes. Each poem was written to reflect daily life: the routines, relationships, humour and moments that make each home unique.

We bring live musicians into our homes regularly and we're now working with the University of Sheffield to explore what happens when residents make their own music too.

Every Christmas, we work with our friends at the CGI on a special project where volunteers write letters to our residents. The impact is profound. We start by sharing residents’ interests, the football team they follow, the music they love, the places they’ve lived, the routines they enjoy.
