Welcoming Our Registered Manager Following Years of Progression
We’re delighted to confirm the appointment of Sonya Oxley as Registered Manager, marking an important milestone that reflects long-term investment in people, leadership continuity and career progression within the home.
Sonya’s journey is one that residents, loved ones and colleagues know well. Having grown her career at White Ash Brook over several years, including a period leading the home as Interim Manager, her appointment brings reassurance, stability and a deep understanding of the people and community she serves. It is a clear example of how experience, commitment and development are recognised and supported within Each Other Care.

Sonya began her career in care straight after leaving school, initially working in childcare and education both in the UK and abroad. In 2019 she moved into adult care, gaining experience across supported living, domiciliary care and care home settings. Since joining White Ash Brook, she has progressed through Senior and Deputy Manager roles before stepping confidently into Interim Manager, developing a strong grasp of both our quality care delivery and the responsibilities of leading a home.
Sonya tells us:
“I am extremely excited for this next chapter. I’m fortunate to be surrounded by a strong, committed team and a supportive community, with whom I have taken the time to build genuine and meaningful relationships. Together, we are on a journey of leading for excellence, ensuring a compliant and safe environment while delivering care that is truly person-centred.”
During Sonya’s time as Interim Manager, the home has continued to move forward in a calm and steady way. Familiar leadership, clear communication and consistent support for the team have created an environment where residents feel safe, understood and well cared for, and where her colleagues feel confident in their roles and supported to grow.
Sonya’s leadership is also shaped by her own life experiences. She shared how losing her mum at a young age strengthened her determination and compassion, shaping the way she leads and supports others. That personal perspective is reflected in her focus on relationships, empathy and creating a home where people feel genuinely valued.
Alongside strengthening care within the home, White Ash Brook has continued to build meaningful links with the local communities of Accrington and Oswaldtwistle. Regular nursery visits are now part of everyday life, with plans underway for inclusive activities such as community walks and café check-ins. Dementia cafés and weekly minibus outings further support residents to stay connected to the wider community and continue doing the things that matter to them.
“We have already begun forming beautiful connections,” Sonya added. “We’re celebrating that age is no limit when it comes to learning and connection. I’m truly excited about what the future holds and look forward to sharing this journey with the entire community here in Oswaldtwistle.”
Sonya’s appointment reflects White Ash Brook’s wider commitment to supporting people to develop their careers, maintaining stability within teams and investing in leadership from within. It also reflects Each Other Care’s purpose of caring for people in a way that contributes to meaningful life for all.
As White Ash Brook looks ahead, the focus remains on providing quality, person-centred care in a settled and supportive environment, led by someone who already knows the home, its people and its community so well.
