About us
A warm welcome to Benholm Care, our 34-bedroom care home in Forfar, Angus, offering compassionate residential, dementia, respite, nursing and palliative care.
Moving in with us marks an important new chapter. We take time to make sure each resident feels seen, heard and valued from the start of their journey into care.
Benholm Care is a beautiful, characterful home set within beautiful grounds. Inside, high ceilings and generous natural light give our home a sense of space and warmth, with bright communal areas for quality time with family and friends and quieter corners for when residents want some time to themselves.
Moving into care is a big step and we're here to support you every step of the way. Whether you're exploring care for yourself or helping a loved one make the move, our friendly team will take the time to listen, answer questions and help you feel confident about what comes next.

Our residential care is designed for older people who would benefit from a little extra support with day-to-day life. You’ll have the reassurance of personal care, fresh, home-cooked meals and a safe, welcoming home here in Forfar. If you or your loved one is living with memory loss, our specialist dementia care is built around understanding and trust. You’ll be supported by specially trained teams who use research-backed approaches and technology to create a calm, reassuring environment, helping you stay connected, valued and engaged each day.

Sometimes you can need a little extra support, such as recovering from an illness, or to give loved ones a break. We offer short-term help you can rely on, and it is a wonderful opportunity to experience life in our home. At life’s most sensitive moments, our palliative care focuses on comfort and peace. You and your loved ones will be supported by specially trained teams who care for both physical needs and emotional wellbeing, creating space for calm, reassurance and togetherness in this important chapter of life.

Our nursing care is for people who require a higher level of clinical support alongside their day-to-day care. Our team of qualified nurses is on hand 24 hours a day and. are supported by local GPs and external healthcare practitioners.
Our Lifestyle and Wellbeing Programme
Tracey and Cat play a vital role in planning and delivering a wide variety of activities and events, tailored to each resident; their passions, interests and hobbies. They are an active part of our busy team, planning and implementing a varied and ever-changing Wellbeing Programme where every resident feels included and engaged.
We offer weekly live music in the home from harp trios to Scottish accordion, as well as regular trips on our onsite minibus into Forfar and beyond. Structured activities such as movement classes, bingo, coffee mornings and a games club offer certainty and routine, but we intersperse this with varied and spontaneous events and activities to suit the mood and desire of the day.
Whether you prefer a quieter time reading in our cosy lounge or being an active part of a group activity, you’ll find plentiful opportunities to relax, engage, feel inspired and make friends.

Dining at Benholm Care
We say “Good Food, Good Company, Good Times.”
Every meal is cooked fresh on-site by our in-house chef, with residents' tastes and preferences shaping our daily menu. Mealtimes are enjoyed in our charming dining room and are a relaxed and sociable part of the day that many residents look forward to.
