Dunniwood Manager Gemma Gets Ready for a New Arrival
Our lovely Manager at Dunniwood Lodge, Gemma, is expecting her first child very soon and we’d like to wish her all the best as she heads off for her maternity leave this week.
Our wider management team waved Gemma off in style recently by arranging a surprise meal in Doncaster, with managers from all the Each Other Care homes and support function making the journey from Lancashire, Essex, and Rotherham.
Gemma was overjoyed and expressed her gratitude at the gesture, alongside the overall positive experience she’s received from the wider Each Other Care team around her pregnancy.
She says, “I’ve worked in the care sector for more than 10 years now, and Each Other Care really does feel like my extended family. I started here as Registered Manager at Dunniwood in 2020.
“My team members have been nothing but welcoming and supportive. When I found out I was pregnant, I genuinely could not wait to share the news. With Each Other Care being a family-owned and values-based organisation, I knew that the news of such a big life event for me would be warmly received.
“Joanne and Fie [Director at Each Other Care] have been amazing throughout my pregnancy journey, keeping in touch and supporting me with anything at all I need. Joanne has provided flexibility around my role when needed, moral support and is always there for me.
“I’m looking forward to spending this time off with my baby, however, I also adore my job and I‘m already excited about coming back to Dunniwood after my maternity leave is finished.”
