The Mayor and Mayoress of Hyndburn are set to visit our White Ash Brook Care Home in Accrington on Saturday 1 July as part of Care Home Open Week 2023.

This much-anticipated event aims to celebrate the core spirit of community while recognising the invaluable contributions of care homes in society.

Care Home Open Week 2023, a nationwide event run by Championing Social Care from 26 June – 2 July, seeks to shed light on the positive aspects of care homes and promote bonds within local communities.

Alongside coffee and cake, there will be live music from local musician, Paul Scholey. Guests will also get the chance to plant their very own individual flowerpots, which will then be homed in the newly created community garden at White Ash Brook.

Sarah Salvin, Manager at White Ash Brook says, “The whole team here at White Ash Brook is looking forward to the Coffee and Cake Afternoon and engaging with residents, friends, families and new faces from our local community. Our event is based on the importance of building strong community ties and we’re privileged to be able host the Mayor and Mayoress too."

Everyone is welcome to attend the free community event, which will take place at White Ash Brook, Thwaites Rd, Oswaldtwistle, Accrington, BB5 4QR from 1.30 – 3pn on Saturday 1 July 2023.
