Tickhill Choir Brings Joy to Dunniwood Lodge

The lounge at Dunniwood Lodge Care Home in Bessacarr filled with harmonies last Thursday when the Tickhill Choir came to perform.

Len had arranged the visit so his wife Ann, a Dunniwood Lodge resident who used to sing with the group, could see her old friends. Her face lit up when Len and his choir made their way into the lounge, lining up ready to sing the songs she knows well.

Hilda and Kay shared a tub of Princesses chocolates between them, singing along and giggling through the afternoon. Christine and Cynthia joined in too, singing the songs they remembered. Mary's late husband had sung with the group for years and one of the singers there remembered them both. They had a wonderful catch-up afterwards with a cup of tea, chatting about old times.

Here at Each Other Care, we’re grateful for the joy our loved ones bring, like Len, who helped create a meaningful experience not only for his wife Ann, but every resident at Dunniwood Lodge Care Home. Tickhill Choir volunteered their time to come and sing for the home and it’s these community connections that make life at our care homes so wonderful.
