Celebrating 60 Years Together at Dunniwood Lodge
Some days stay with you long after they’ve passed and last week, we were delighted to support one of them as we marked a very special milestone with our resident Ann and her husband Len.
It was their 60th wedding anniversary and we knew Ann and Len wanted time together in a calm setting and the chance to enjoy the day in their own way. So we planned it around them.
Ann and Len.
We created a small Christmas grotto in our home and set up a candlelit table just for the two of them. Dinner was served quietly with no interruptions, giving them the space to talk, laugh and enjoy being together. Our team were on hand to check everything was just right, sharing a smile and conversation before stepping back again.
What stood out was how everyone played their part. From setting the room, to adjusting routines so Ann and Len could take their time and making sure familiar faces were close by if needed.
Afterwards, Len wrote to us on behalf of himself and Ann to say thank you. They told us how much the day meant to them, how relaxed they felt, and how much it mattered knowing the whole team wanted the day to be special for them.

They said: “We were quite overwhelmed by the love and compassion extended to us by you all. You gave us such a memorable day which will forever remain with us. Dinner for two by candlelight in a Christmas grotto — who would have believed that?! Above all we were surrounded by such love, and were conscious that everyone of you were determined that this should be a day to remember.”
They went on to say: “Words are not really adequate, but once again, we thank you.”
For us, that letter means so much. Not just because of the words themselves, but also because it reflects what we aim to do every day here. It’s paying attention, working together, and creating moments that resonate with all those who live and work here.
