How Our Wellbeing Leads Support Each Other

At Each Other Care, our Wellbeing Leads are integral to delivering person-centred care that contributes to meaningful life for our residents. Each home has one or two dedicated Wellbeing Leads who work alongside our care teams to create connections not just within their own shared home communities, but across all our homes here at Each Other Care.

Our Wellbeing Leads understand that delivering a wonderful wellbeing programme means creating relationships, new experiences and building bridges between communities.

When Lucy joined us as a new team member at Brierfield House, Louise from White Ash Brook welcomed her by inviting Lucy and a couple of residents to the seaside. This shared experience helped Lucy understand our approach to creating meaningful moments and building connections between homes, while Louise could see firsthand what Lucy brings to the role.

Lucy's experience working with people from different walks of life is evident in how naturally she builds rapport with our residents. This mutual learning and support show how our Wellbeing Leads work together.

This collaborative spirit extends across all our homes, especially in Lancashire between neighbouring Preston Glades, New Springfield, White Ash Brook, Brierfield House, Highfield Hall and Shawcross Care Home. Residents regularly visit each other's homes for special events and recent meetups have included an afternoon tea event and a wild-west themed party that brought our shared home communities together. New friendships are made, our social circles are widened and research shows how this reduces isolation and supports mental health in later life.

Every fortnight, our Wellbeing Leads attend our Each Other Care online Wellbeing Forum where they share meaningful moments from the week and support each other by sharing resources and ideas. When New Springfield discovered an excellent local potter to work with residents, the contact was shared across our homes, ensuring everyone benefits from these wonderful discoveries.

Our Great British Chat.

A new addition to our collaborative approach to wellbeing is our weekly online Great British Chat. Wellbeing Leads invite residents to join virtual conversations with friends from other homes. These sessions maintain important friendships and create new connections across our communities from as far north as Benholm Care in Forfar to Ladyville Lodge Care Home in Upminster, Essex.

Our Wellbeing Leads truly live our values every day by being there for each other, creating relationships, staying positive and light-hearted and by being authentic in everything they do. They work closely with care teams, residents and families to ensure that everything they do is resident-led and person centred and we are so proud of them.
