Impressive Inspection Results for The Abbeys
Last quarter marked a significant milestone for The Abbeys as they underwent a rigorous three-day inspection by the local authority. Led by Home Manager J’amie Morgan, this inspection was her first in the lead role and the results exceeded all expectations.
The Abbeys and J’amie's team proudly achieved an overall rating of 'Good,' showcasing their commitment to excellence in care services. The inspection results, which included 6 points of excellence, highlighted the dedication and hard work of the entire team.
The Council representative specifically commended staff for their effective handling of complaints, receptiveness to feedback, and their ability to integrate it seamlessly into their practices. The robust complaints procedure, which is prominently displayed in the reception area and included in the new service users’ welcome pack, was identified as a key strength.
The inspection feedback also emphasised The Abbeys' proactive approach in addressing staff concerns, ensuring the highest quality of care, and maintaining transparency and open communication. Clear policies including whistleblowing and safeguarding, along with a streamlined process for recording comments and complaints, were recognised as exemplary.
J’amie, who has been prioritising her professional and personal development over the past 7 months, played a pivotal role in this success. Her growth as a Home Manager serves as a wonderful example of what can be achieved through dedication and continuous improvement.
