Team Spotlight: Casey McClean

For Casey, care is all about people. It’s the laughter, the connection and the genuine relationships that grow from spending quality time together in our shared home community at Ladyville Lodge in Upminster, Essex.

Starting a career at Each Other Care as a carer, Casey subsequently moved into admin role and is now a Senior Carer. Her journey reflects the spirit of growth, teamwork and progression that defines Each Other Care’s principle of daring to develop.

“I’ve always been the first to pick up a shift,” Casey tells us. “I just love being around others. Most of all, I love seeing the team happy and the residents smiling.”

That positivity and reliability have made Casey a model colleague and someone everyone enjoys working with and learning from. Casey’s approach is values-led, powered by patience and understanding. She continues:

“I’ve learned to support people by putting myself in their shoes,” she explains. “If a resident is anxious or upset, I’ll sit with them, talk it through and help them feel safe.”

It’s a simple act, but one that captures the heart of our culture of caring for people in a way that contributes to a meaningful life.

Casey’s creativity and initiative shine through in the small moments that make a meaningful difference. When resident Geoffrey wanted to enjoy a cold pint but needed support, Casey found a way to make it possible by dividing it into four smaller cups so he could drink it independently. “It’s about helping people do things for themselves,” she says. “That sense of independence means everything.”

Casey has truly embraced our leadership principle of leading us to excellence by stepping forward to lead by example and embracing the power of teamwork. Her enthusiasm, growing confidence and solutions-focussed team spirit show what happens when we work together, learn from one another and bring our values to life every day.
