Team Spotlight: Meet our Wellbeing Lead Ashley

As our Wellbeing Lead, he is passionate about creating moments that matter through music, movement or meaningful connections that help residents feel truly at home.

With over four years’ experience in wellbeing roles, Ashley brings both passion and expertise to the home. He leads a varied monthly wellbeing programme that balances group sessions with one-to-one support, ensuring every resident can feel included, valued and appreciated. His approach is guided by our values of authenticity, creating relationships, being positive and light-hearted and being there for each other.

Music is at the heart of Ashley’s practice. Having studied music in college, he knows how powerful it can be in sparking memories and emotions. Taking centre stage at weekly karaoke and singalong sessions, his performances are a highlight, creating moments of joy and connection for residents and families alike. Many loved ones block the day out in their diary to ensure they never miss a singalong.

Ashley’s creativity shines through in tailoring activities to individual needs. One example is how he’s worked closely with a resident living with advanced dementia, gradually building trust through small conversations and one-to-one time. With patience and encouragement, this resident began to join group sessions, make friendships and regain confidence and her family overwhelmed with the transformation in her confidence.

From exercise sessions that improve mobility, to gardening and reminiscence groups, Ashley designs activities that promote both physical health and emotional wellbeing. He takes inspiration from research-backed organisations such as NAPA and Alzheimer’s Society, while also drawing ideas from families and colleagues across Each Other Care.

Ashley’s leadership is a powerful reminder that wellbeing is not “one-size-fits-all.” It is about relationships, creativity and listening. For those looking to join our sector, Ashley shows the impact a values-led approach can have in helping residents live meaningful lives while building a rewarding career.
